The Director General of Georgian Railway speaks about the challenges of the sector in Brussels

The Director General of Georgian Railway met with the head of the European Railway Community (CER) in Brussels. David Peradze introduced Alberto Mazzola to the current projects of the Georgian Railway, existing challenges and the results of the company. The Director General of Georgian Railway discussed the issues and progress of the company’s approach to European directives and European regulations, and also spoke in detail about the processes the Georgian Railway is going through at this stage. At the meeting, the parties focused on sectorial changes and related challenges.

The head of the European Railway Community expressed full support to the Georgian Railway and noted that in the process of fulfilling European directives, he is ready to share his experience with the company’s management on the example of European countries. In order to promote the development of planned reforms and further strengthen mutual cooperation, it was planned to create a working group.

It should be noted here that Georgia is a partner state of the European Railway Community.

Alberto Mazzola was appointed to the mentioned position during the coronavirus pandemic , that is why this was the first face-to-face meeting between the parties.
