On September 20, 2024, in the Chinese city – Xi’an, the delegation of the Georgian Railway under the leadership of the Director General David Peradze held another working meeting with the management of the Chinese Railway, which was planned in July of this year, during the meeting with the Chinese delegation in Georgia.
The parties discussed the issues of updating and improving the transportation process and the mechanism of bilateral cooperation between the railways in order to maintain the growing trend of rail-container shipments between China and Georgia.
Within the framework of the mentioned visit, the Director General of the Georgian Railway held working meetings with the Governor of Shensi Province, the mayor of Xi’an and with the management of one of the largest dry ports in China. It is the land port of Xi’an that provides the main cargo flows in the direction of Europe.
The parties agreed on a coordinated and joint work process, which will create a more favorable environment for attracting Chinese transit and foreign trade cargoes through the Middle Corridor to Europe and Turkey.
