The Georgian Railway delegation attended the annual award ceremony of the European Community of Railways (CER) in Brussels. At the traditional event gather representatives of European railways. This year’s ceremony announced winners in several categories, including Ukrainian Railway, which received the European Railways Award 2023. It is important that strengthening the role of women in the railway sector has recently become relevant. Proof of this is that an award the “Innovator of the Year has received a woman”. It should be noted here, that the Georgian Railway is also actively working in this direction. A video address of the President of the European Parliament was shown at the event. Roberta Metsola pointed out that railways are safe, eco-friendly transport and that the development of the railway sector is essential for the future of Europe. At the award ceremony, the representatives of Sweden, Spain and other countries spoke about the challenges of the field, namely simplified services, operational transfers and service improvement. Within the framework of the event, the Georgian Railway delegation met with foreign colleagues and discussed issues of future cooperation.
