Within the framework of the visit of the Georgian Railway delegation to the Chinese city of Sian, a four-sided working meeting was held with the participation of the railway administrations of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and China.

It is worth noting that the leadership of the China Railway Corporation took part in the middle corridor working meetings for the first time, which will further increase the capacity of the route development, promote the growth of cargo volume, at the same time ensure the stable flow of cargo and strengthen the transit potential of the corridor.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation and future prospects of the Trans-Caspian international transport route. Among them, the issues of creating a high-quality service for the movement of container block trains from China to Europe, the modernization of large infrastructure projects in the  countries participating in the Middle Corridor, and the unification of document processing standards.

In addition, within the framework of the event, in order to discuss the current situation on the Trans-Caspian route, a round table was held with the participation of the State Committee for Development and Reform of the People’s Republic of China, the heads of the China Railway Corporation, as well as the permanent and associate members of the association.

The delegations visited Sian International Dry Port, one of the largest in China, and the new terminal of Kazakhstan Railway, where they participated in the launching ceremony of China-Europe container trains. These trains will connect to the European railway network through Georgian ports.
