Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan trilateral meeting was held in Ankara
The United Nations Europe Economic Commission (UNECE) organized Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan trilateral meeting in Turkey, Ankara.
The Commission (UNECE) has been working on preparation of legal provisions in relation to the railway law since 2010. The project goal is to develop uniform harmonized legal conditions for world railways, which will significantly improve the railway competitiveness in relation to other transport. At the same time, it will make the rail transportation much more effective and significantly reduce shipping time.
It is noteworthy, that for the above-mentioned project pilot testing the Commission (UNECE) selected the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway corridor, as a border between “OSJD” and “OTIF” railway spaces.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the meeting. Also, they discussed the project implementation necessary nuances and introduction prospects. Organizing a pilot train was planned.
