After a two-and-a-half-months interval, running of the passenger trains to the main directions was resumed
After a two-and-a-half-months pause, today the first trains departed from Tbilisi to the five main directions. The Georgian Railway is strictly following “ Covid-19” recommendations for the safe passenger transportation.
According to the instructions developed with the Ministry of Health, before boarding the train, it is important for passengers to follow a social distance, undergo thermoscreening, deobarrier, and treat their hands with a disinfectant solution. Passengers will not be allowed on the train without a protective mask, and also remove them during the trip as well.
According to Dachi Tsaguria, Director of Georgian Railway Passenger Transportation, the train will run in five directions – Tbilisi-Batumi, Tbilisi-Zugdidi, Tbilisi-Poti, Tbilisi-Ozurgeti, Tbilisi-Kutaisi. According to him, at the first stage, running of day high-speed trains has been restored.
For the purpose of safety, “Georgian Railway” urges passengers to purchase train tickets online, as well as follow the rules of trip as much as possible,” said Tsaguria.
Today, The “Stadler” train departed to Batumi at 8 o’clock sharp. According to the first passengers, in order to protect health and safety, they are ready to follow all the regulations.
