JSC GEORGIAN RAILWAY ANNOUNCES POSITIVE FINANCIAL RESULTS OF 2025
For the year ended 31 December 2025, Georgian Railway reported net profit of GEL 152.7 million compared with GEL 68.2 million in 2024, primarily reflecting improved operational performance and lower finance costs.
As for the 5-months of 2026, preliminary operational and financial indicators are as follows:
FREIGHT VOLUME: During the first five months of 2026, freight transportation volume increased by approximately 8% compared with the same period of 2025. Growth accelerated during March-May 2026, when transported volumes increased by more than 20% compared with the corresponding period of the prior year.
ADJUSTED EBITDA: During the first five months of 2026, Adjusted EBITDA rose by 91% to GEL 122.9 million, compared to GEL 64.5 million in the same period of 2025, reflecting enhanced operational performance and strategic cost management. The Adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 50%, compared to 26% in the first five months of 2025. Excluding the impact of other non-operating income, Adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 34% from 26%.
LOGISTICS BUSINESS: Profitability margin of the Company’s logistics subsidiaries increased to 62% in the first five months of 2026, compared with 47% in the corresponding period of 2025, reflecting improved operational efficiency and stronger business activity.
ENHANCED PROFITABILITY: The Company achieved a Net Profit of GEL 88.4 million in the reporting period, a 50% increase over the previous year, while the profit margin significantly improved to 35.7%.
